what it is, why it works and what advantages it offers. The three phases of
brand building and the roles of author, publisher, publicist and agent. Why
brand building and brand awareness are different and how you can shoot your
career in the foot if you aren't careful. What roles producing books,
advertising, marketing and publicity play in creating an author brand. What
brand equity is and how it works to your advantage. Seven Steps to building
a strong author brand for yourself. How to use your author brand as a map
for your career.
Bio:
Best known for getting her clients chosen as two out of the total seven
picks for the Kelly Ripa Book Club on LIVE! with Regis and Kelly, Theresa
Meyers spent over ten years working in public relations garnering millions
of dollars in media coverage for her clients on national television and in
daily newspapers, before she launched Blue Moon Communications in 2001. A
former journalist and magazine columnist, she now works with New York Times
bestsellers and many of the largest fiction publishers in New York including
St. Martins Press, Warner Books (now Grand Central), MIRA Books (Harlequin),
NAL, Dorchester and others, focusing on strategic planning for her clients,
media training and author branded media campaigns. But what many people
don't know is that by night she also writes and novels. A member of RWA
since 1993, she was one of 11 people in the nation to final in the American
Title 2 Contest (The American Idol of books). Her most recent book,
Salvation of the Damned was released by Harlequin/Silhouette in March 2009,
with two more paranormal romances to follow soon from Silhouette's Nocturne
